On July 17–19, GLEA 2024 featured many thought-provoking contributions in law and economics, both theoretical and empirical, as well as a special workshop in experimental law and economics. GLEA 2024 on July 17–19, 2024
The 21st annual meeting GLEA 2024 will be held at the University of Hamburg on July 18–19, 2024. See the conference website for the program. GLEA 2024 has added a special submission track for legal scholars to present their law-and-economics research and discuss it with economists. Another important addition is a workshop on Experimental Methods in Law and Economics on July 17, see the program; for the workshop, registration is still open.
GLEA 2024 Call for Papers with special law sessions, Young Scholar Prize, and experimental-methods workshop
GLEA 2024 will be held at the University of Hamburg—a birthplace of law and economics in Germany—on July 18–19, 2024. The Call for Papers is now out. As a novelty of GLEA 2024, we will be organizing special panels for legal scholars to present their law-and-economics research and discuss it with economists. Another important addition is a workshop on Experimental Methods in Law and Economics on July 17, the day before the conference. Last but not least, from now on GLEA will award its Young Scholar Prize regularly. For all details, see the Call for Papers. The deadline for submissions has been extended to April 9 (from the original April 2 deadline).

EALE 2023
The European Association of Law and Economics (EALE) will be holding its annual conference in Berlin on 21–22 September 2023. The conference program is now online. It features over 90 contributions, including keynote talks from Patrick Bolton (Imperial College) and Kristin von Zwieten (Oxford) and a roundtable discussion about “What Works and Doesn’t Work in Law and Economics? – The Potential of a Relationship.” The deadline for registrations is 20 August 2023 (full fee €360, PhD students €180, including conference dinner).
GLEA 2023 successfully held in Budapest and changes to the board

EALE 2023 – Call for Papers
The submission deadline is extended until April 10.
The 40th annual conference of the European Law and Economics Association (EALE) will be held in Berlin on 21–22 September 2023, organized by Freie Universität and Humboldt-Universität. Interested researchers are invited to submit their papers online at eale.org by April 3, 2023 (see the Call for Papers here). GLEA members are, of course, involved in organizing the event, among them our board members Andreas Engert, Tim Friehe, and Sven Hoeppner.

The German Law and Economics Association invites submissions for its 20th annual conference, which will be held in Budapest, Hungary on July 6th and 7th, hosted by Andrassy University. Please find the official call for papers here. The conference is set to be held in-person, but it may be held online if necessary. To submit a paper, visit this page by March 30th. The first annual assembly in several years will be held on July 6th and a detailed invitation will follow in June. GLEA looks forward to your contributions.
EALE 2022
The European Association of Law and Economics (EALE) welcomes submissions for its 39th annual conference on September 15-16, 2022 by April 4, 2022. It will be hosted by Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) and Nova School of Law. We hope the conference will take place physically. Any updates will be published on eale.org in due course.
GLEA 2022 & annual assembly
This year’s conference of the German Law and Economics Association will be held on July 7-8 in Nancy and welcomes submissions of papers on any topic in Law and Economics until March 30. Please see the call for papers for further details.
We plan to hold the event in person. In this case, there will be an attendance fee of €150 (€80 for PhD candidates), which includes the conference dinner on July 7.
The annual assembly of the members of GLEA will take place during the conference. Please see the invitation and agenda here (in German).
